With its 21m Swarovski Christmas tree, Les Galeries Lafayette have made it crystal-clear: Christmas is officially on the way!
This winter, the glamorous Paris department store celebrates The Christmas of the Century…
To mark the 100th birthday of the stunning Art Nouveau dome in Europe’s biggest department store, Swarovski has created something special – the “Swarovski Xmas Century Tree at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann” – the biggest tree ever created in Europe since the foundation of the company in 1895. Decorated with 120 brilliant-cut ornaments and topped with a majestic 9m chandelier made from more than 5000 Swarowski-facetted crystal stars, this shiny spectacle is on display until January 8th, 2013.
With its iconic stained-glass cupola, glowing with rich colour, the dome – the protagonist of the Boulevard Haussmann store – was designed by architect Ferdinand Chanut and master glass maker Jacques Gruber.
