Is there anything one might NOT love about Paris? asks Rachel, who was Les Studios de Paris’ guest until recently. She left her home in Mexico to come conquer Paris in the summer, in the company of her husband and their two daughters.
In their search for the perfect watchtower over the wonders of Paris, they happened to meet us and The Million Dollar view apartment, a cozy nest perched on top of the hill of Montmartre.
More about their impressions of Paris, below.
What made you chose Les Studios de Paris?
We loved looking at all the different kinds of apartments. There were different ones to suit everyone’s needs and budget. They all looked interesting and in beautiful locations. Les Studios de Paris had the best range to suit our needs and it feels so much more authentic to be staying in an apartment than in a hotel!
What did you like about staying with us?
The view from our apartment was amazing and the location was perfect. We had lovely breakfasts on our private terrace, enjoyed a glass of wine in the evening there with the glittering Eiffel Tower life-size right in front of our eyes. Montmartre is so beautiful and we loved wandering around, soaking up the sights, smells and sounds of this village-like quarter of Paris.
What’s your story?
Javier and I are both teachers in an international school in Mexico City. We travel to Europe each summer to visit family and friends. This year we splashed out on a trip to Paris to visit Barbara and her family. Javier is Mexican and I am English. Our daughters are both! We all love travelling and exploring new places. We enjoy visiting museums, art galleries and shopping, so Paris was the perfect place to do all of those things.
Why did you come to Paris this time?
We came to visit our friends and to introduce the girls to the wonders of Paris.
How did you choose The Million Dollar View apartment?
We chose it for the view and location. We weren’t entirely sure whether the photograph could be true and when we arrived … it was!
How did a typical day in The Million Dollar View start / end for you?
We started each day with pain au chocolat and croissants from the boulangerie, sitting on the terrace overlooking the south of Paris from Centre Pompidou to the Invalid’s Dome and the skyline of La Défense. Our day finished with French bread, cheese and wine, bedazzled by the lights of the Tour Eiffel.
What was your favourite thing about The Million Dollar View?
Our favourite spot was definitely the terrace!
What do you love about Paris the most?
We love the architecture, the people, the language, the culture, the food, the wine… There’s nothing we wouldn’t love!
We enjoyed wandering around the streets in the sunshine – feeding on art, beauty and the omnipresent poetry of Paris.
